2017 SENEC Congress, Barcelona, 17th to 19th May 2017
Dear colleagues and friends,
The 2017 SENEC Congress will be held in Barcelona from 17th to 19th May 2017. We have invited the Society of British Neurological Surgeons (SBNS) and the American Society (CNS) Congress of Neurological Surgeon. The aim is to involve those societies directly aware of the Congress topic “Preservation of the neurological function. A must paradigm”.
Many Spanish neurological surgeons have received partial or total training in the U.K. in the latest 60 years. Therefore, as a token of appreciation, we wanted to invite this Society for the first time in Spain and share with them our National Congress.
Moreover, this year becomes an historical date in the neurosurgery. We are celebrating the centenary of the death of Sir Victor Horsley, considered the first neurosurgeon. We will pay tribute to him at a Plenary Session on Friday 19th May.
Although we had previously invited the American Society (CNS), at the National Congress, we think it is very important to establish these bonds with such well known and highly regarding international Societies.
This will provide an essential opportunity to strengthen professional and personal ties that can only lead to an improvement in our daily clinical practice and enhance Neurosurgery research cooperation projects.
The theme of the Congress has become a challenge to all neurosurgeons that not only try to surgically remove lesions in eloquent areas but also combine and implement procedures to preserving the patient function as something of equal importance.
We will be pleased to greeting you in May 2017 in Barcelona, a city that as you may know well is a pleasure to visit, specially during that lovely Spring time of the Year.
